On one of my trips to Udaipur, we stayed at the new Oberoi property, Udai Villas. This brand new marble palace with a private plunge pool attached to your room is truly majestic. With people to escort you from the moment you left out of your room and making you feel like royalty throughout the stay is a distinct mark of the Oberoi group of hotels. The Taj on the other hand has a way of making you feel at home and looked after. A camel ride followed by dinner at night in the dark is memorable. Also, the picholla. The boat that brings you to this palace in the middle of Lake Pichola makes for a grand entry.
