Durva's Travel Diaries: Kuala Lampur

Ritz Carlton, Kuala Lampur

A short flight away on a short luxury shopping escapade to Kuala Lampur, I set foot into Ritz Carlton on the top floor suite with private butler service for 5 nights. I am surprised with the level of luxury in Asia and as Asians I think we are spoilt. No other part in the world comes close when it comes to sheer indulgence of their senses. This property of Ritz Carlton houses are of the top rated spas. The Six Senses spa where I remember a constellation meditation with your personalized healing stone and a ritual where you write out your concerns on a piece of paper in ink pen and then dissolve this paper in a bowl of water and as the ink disperses out of the paper, your concerns leave you right there. This is a ritual at the start of every spa treatment.

To note is the Ritz Carlton's food court which is by far the best designed and most sophisticated and most culinary conscious food court I have come across. With about 100 different cuisines from different countries each court is designed to take you into that land as you step foot in the court. With five days in hand, I could do justice to only Japanese, Spanish and Thai to note. But this food court is a league of its own! Walking and shopping along circus road is what keeps you busy most of the days.

A trip to Genting highlands from Kuala Lampur is a must we are told. The casinos of Genting island and the children's park are to remind you of a little, but not even a patch on Vegas. This wasn't the best part and as I look back didn't do anything.
